Crime
Analysis Division
The crime analysis program
has a number of ongoing research projects and initiatives
that involve the blended approach to geographic analysis.
Using sliding scales of inquiry, each project begins with
a community analysis to identify general ecological patterns
that correlate with criminal and delinquent activity, and
then, the research adopts a micro place-based research design
to test hypotheses generated. The breadth of the research
activity described below demonstrates the range of interests
among program staff, as well as important issues facing local
communities. As these research projects are completed, reports
and analyses will be made available to the public on a limited
basis due to privacy considerations. For additional information
on each project please email the associated researcher identified
by web mail links.
