Larry K. Gaines, Ph.D.

Dr. Gaines is a professor and chair of the Criminal Justice Department. He joined the department in 1998. He has extensive experience with the Kentucky State Police and the Lexington Police Department. While at Eastern Kentucky University, he also served as the Executive Director of the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police for 14 years. Dr. Gaines has an extensive consulting record assisting law enforcement agencies across the nation. Most recently he published in Community Policing, Criminal Justice in Action, Police Quarterly, and the Journal of Criminal Justice.
