Vivian is currently assisting with research projects under the supervision of Dr. Bichler. These include the Riverside County Youth Accountability Team (YAT), the Problem Identification Project (PIP) an Evaluation of the Herman Goldstein Award for Excellence in Problem-Oriented Policing , and Police Action Counseling Team (PACT). Vivian is a graduate student with the Department of Criminal Justice, CSUSB. Her primary area of interest is juvenile corrections and the sociological, psychological, and emotional factors that lead to juvenile crime. She is also currently working at Riverside Juvenile Hall as a group counselor. She would eventually like to pursue her Ph.D. and teach at University in California .

    Youth Accountability Team (YAT) Riverside County
Research Assistant
An examination of delinquent youth movement patterns that attempts to forecast future criminal activity based on those patterns. Project includes field data collection, data cleaning and analysis, generating maps to view movement patterns or pathways, and report writing.

    Problem Identification Project (PIP) an Evaluation of the Herman Goldstein Award for Excellence in Problem-Oriented Policing
The Goldstein Awards recognize innovative and effective POP projects that have achieved measurable success in resolving a specific problem faced by police and the community. The focus of the evaluation is to determine if the quality of the submissions has suffered in recent years due to a reduction in funding for POP programs by the federal government.

    Police Action Counseling Team (PACT) Project-Riverside County
An examination of a multi-agency program that dispatches a counseling team to domestic violence and other traumatic police calls for service where minors are present. Field data collection included the use of global positioning systems (GPS) and site assessments to measure spatial distances to services as a variable of program success or failure. Project also included data cleaning, analysis, and report writing.
