Stefanie is a graduate student with the Criminal Justice Department at CSUSB. She is currently the lead student research assistant on the P.A.C.T. research project. Her responsibilities include organizing the collection of data (including the use of the global positioning system), creating and cleaning the database, helping with the geographic analysis of the data and report writing. She is currently working on the GAPS project based in Lexington, KY research project under the direction of Dr. Bichler, spatially analyzing open-air drug markets, auto theft, street robberies and commercial burglary to ascertain temporal geographic crime patterns. Her Masters’ Thesis topic examines these environmental and situational factors associated with narcotics in Lexington, KY. Future goals include a position as a crime analyst at a Police Department and later pursing a Ph.D.

    PACT – Riverside County
An examination of multi-agency program that dispatched a psychological counseling team to domestic violence and other related calls for service. Data collection included the use of global positioning systems and site assessments to measure the distance to services for successful versus unsuccessful. Project included data cleaning, crime analysis, and literature review and report writing.
    GAPS – Lexington KY.
Geographic analysis and extensive data cleaning of 1 million calls for service with a focus on open-air drug markets, auto theft, street robberies and commercial burglary. Project included data cleaning, supplemental layer creation, site visits, crime mapping and crime analysis.
    YAT Project- Riverside County.
An examination of juvenile delinquent movement patterns in an attempt to forecast future criminal activity. Project includes data cleaning and data analysis.
    Chula Vista, CA Motel Project
An examination of crime and disorder in budget motels using geographic analysis, motel management surveys and environmental reviews. Project included site visits.
