Institute for Canadian Urban Research Studies (ICURS)

Founded by Patricia and Paul Brantingham, this research centre is dedicated to exploring crime patterns. See the School of Criminology.

British Home Office Crime Reduction Unit
This research center provides a vehichle through which practitioners and scholars can share information and resources about crime and its prevention. The website hosts a number of downloadable toolkits that address hotspots, and geographical crime analysis techniques.

Center for the Study of Hate Crime and Extremism,
California State University, San Bernardino
Brian Levin, Esq. directs this nonpartisan domestic research and policy center that serves the nation by examining the ways that bigotry, advocacy of extreme methods, or the use of terrorism deny civil or human rights to people on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or other relevant status characteristics. The center seeks to aid scholars, community activists, government officials, law enforcement, the media and others with objective information to aid them in their examination and implementation of law and policy.

Crime Prevention Extension Service
The Extension Service works with small businesses in Newark and the rest of northern New Jersey to find simple, affordable and workable crime prevention measures that are practical and effective.

Police Foundation, Crime Mapping Laboratory
Provides information about the use of crime mapping in law enforcement. This organization also conducts training sessions for introductory and intermediate instruction on the use of crime mapping software.

Crime Mapping and Analysis Program (CMAP)
CMAP's mission is to provide technical assistance and training to local and state agencies in the areas of crime and intelligence analysis and geographic information systems (GIS).
National Institute of Justice
This is the research and development agency of the U.S. Department of Justice and is the only Federal agency solely dedicated to researching crime control and justice issues. NIJ provides objective, independent, non-partisan, evidence-based knowledge and tools to meet the challenges of crime and justice, particularly at the State and local levels.

ESRI software and virtual campus
