  Amanda is currently working on a number of research projects under the direction of Dr. Bichler. As Team Leader for the geographic research component of the Y.A.T. evaluation, Amanda is heavily involved in developing and managing geographic data, conducting analyses, and assisting with report writing. In addition, Amanda provides field research assistance to the P.A.C.T. evaluation, and Chula Vista Motel Project. Previously, Amanda worked on the GAPS Project during its development phase and through this experience she has acquired extensive experience with data cleaning and geocoding. During her undergraduate degree, she examined Redlands, CA problem areas during Market night. She acquired the knowledge to associate crime and place. Amanda is a graduate student with the Department of Criminal Justice, California State University, San Bernardino. Her masters’ thesis concerns the spatial analysis of gangs in Riverside County.

    YAT Project- Riverside County
Lead Person
An examination of juvenile delinquent movement patterns in an attempt to forecast future criminal activity.
    GAPS – Lexington KY
Geographic analysis and extensive data cleaning of 1 million calls for service with a focus on open air drug markets and commercial burglary. Project included data cleaning and crime analysis.
    PACT – Riverside County
An examination of multi-agency program that dispatched a psychological counseling team to domestic violence and other related calls for service. Data collection included the use of global positioning systems and site assessments to measure the distance to services for successful versus unsuccessful. Project included data cleaning, crime analysis, and literature review writing.
    Chula Vista, CA Motel Project
An examination of crime and disorder in budget motels using geographic analysis, motel management surveys and environmental reviews.
